At Radar, joint project between the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur and Westfälischer Kunstverein.
Tornike Gognadze's RADAR project Merry-Go-Round addresses not only the fallibility of human memory, but also the social and political implications of such collectively-falsified memories, a phenomenon often referred to as the Mandela Effect. The project develops from his short film Boom Ball (2025), a chamber drama in which two protagonists are confronted with the fragility of their personal anecdotes and increasingly question the individual as well as collective memory. This cinematic inquiry is extended into physical space through a light installation, creating a resonant realm in which fictional narrative and present memory overlap and merge into one another.
